Is a Single Species More Important Than an Ecosystem?

It’s been over a year since the demise of “Cecil” the lion, surprisingly (or maybe not?) the recent death of his partner “Jericho” hardly caused a ripple across cyberspace. It has been 9 months since the US Fish and Wildlife Service placed the African lion on the US endangered species list. How are the two events related? Well the whole world went crazy with the death of one lion how should it react with the loss of the equivalent of 3 Kruger National Parks?

Conservation Force has just released an “enhancement” report on 27 hunting safari operators in Tanzania for the US Fish and Wildlife Service, this 8-minute video outlines some of the information contained within that report.
