Animal rights groups claim that safari hunting does nothing for wildlife or ecosystems.
The Bawa hunting concession spans almost one million acres across the South bank of Lake Cabora Bassa. It incorporates typical Zambezi valley ecosystems, ranging from cathedral mopane forest and Jesse thickets to riverine woodlands and alluvial floodplains. The area supports healthy populations of elephant, lion, leopard, hippo and buffalo as well as a diverse spread of plains game, including eland, sable and roan antelope.
